White Privilege Is Invading Capitol Hill and Getting Away

President Donald Trump made good on his message, “Stand back and stand by” on January 6, 2021. For many of us, this day will be engraved in history as the moment "White Privilege" went viral. The chaotic scene at Capitol Hill ended with one woman dead from a gunshot wound, three others from medial issues, officers retreating, and a country shattered.

Thousands of angry White Trump supporters stormed Capitol Hill in an attempt to stifle the electoral count to confirm Joe Biden as president. The group casually walked through the front barriers and into the building as if it were a slow day at Walmart. The out of control rioters were met with little resistance as they fumbled through offices and damaged property.

According to reports, at least 50 people were taken into custody. Unfortunately, the mastermind of the deadly day was not one of them. Some believe Trump should be charged with the death of 35-year-old Ashli Babbitt. The California native lost her life when she invaded Capitol Hill with over a hundred other misguided supporters. As cries for Trump's arrest and impeachment grow, so does the outrage of Black Americans who witnessed an about-face from officers sworn to protect and serve. The very men and women who feel threatened by an unarmed Black man or woman ran for safety when confronted by armed White men and women. Providing the world with an image of cowardly law enforcement who cater to the White population, as the leader of the free world delivered love tweets to his evildoers to encourage the madness. What do you think would have happened if rioters were Black or Brown? During the Black Lives Matter protests, Trump blamed elected officials for the melee tweeting at the time, "when the looting starts, the shooting starts". The openly racist sore loser took every step to avoid condemning the actions of the thugs in White skin who looked more like animals than law-abiding citizens.

Will America ever recover from the Trump administration? Luckily, the decision-makers at Twitter and Facebook decided to silence a man that continues to cause as much damage as Hitler. At this point, an exact timeframe of Trump's suspension from the social media platforms has not been published. Hopefully, the banned will last for life.
