Reports of Worms Found in McDonald's Drinks

A McDonald’s restaurant in Paddock Lake, Wisconsin, is under investigation after multiple customers reported finding worms in their soft drinks, raising serious concerns about sanitation and public health safety in Kenosha County.

The disturbing reports first gained attention after customer Jasmine Gurski shared her experience on Facebook, describing the incident as both alarming and emotionally upsetting. According to Gurski, the contamination may have stemmed from either a significant sanitary failure or possible intentional tampering. Other customers soon came forward with similar complaints, including one individual who said a worm traveled through a straw and into their mouth while drinking a beverage purchased at the restaurant.

Customers expressed shock and concern over potential health risks, particularly for children and vulnerable individuals who may have consumed contaminated drinks. At least three separate complaints were reportedly connected to the same McDonald’s location, suggesting the issue may have been systemic rather than isolated.

Following the complaints, the Kenosha County Public Health Department conducted an inspection of the restaurant. During the inspection, management reportedly informed officials that worms had been observed emerging through the sewage system and may have entered the restaurant’s soda and ice machines due to equipment malfunction.

Investigators believe recent flooding in the area may have contributed to the contamination. According to inspection findings, damage to floor drain tiles may have allowed contaminated sewage water to infiltrate beverage equipment, creating conditions for sewage worms to appear inside drinks served to customers.

Restaurant management responded by hiring pest control services and announcing plans for repairs to the affected drainage and beverage systems. However, communication with the public has remained limited. The restaurant’s local manager declined to comment publicly and referred questions to the franchise licensee, who had not responded to media inquiries at the time of reporting.

Public health officials have since ordered a re-inspection of the restaurant to verify that corrective actions are completed and safety standards are being met before customer confidence can be restored.
