People in my life try to tell me jokes, but I don't realize they are jokes right away. Sometimes, I need to be told that they are actual jokes.

What makes a joke a joke? This dictionary definition helps. Jokes can cover more than one thing that would elicit humor, though I am not a fan of practical jokes because when I was a child, I was on the receiving end of those practical jokes. Those practical jokes probably took away my sense of humor from an early age.
Laughter is considered good for the health, so I should learn to laugh way more often.
