Fast & Furious EXPANDS: 4 New TV Shows Coming to Peacock – The Family Saga Goes Full Speed Ahead

Something big just shifted in the Universal Entertainment universe. Fast & Furious, the globe-shaking blockbuster franchise that’s been dominating screens for a quarter century, is now steering full throttle into television. During NBCUniversal’s annual Upfront presentation at Radio City Music Hall in New York on May 11, Vin Diesel dropped a piece of news that’s sending Hollywood and fans alike into overdrive: four new Fast & Furious series are in development for Peacock.

For decades, Fast & Furious has been synonymous with gargantuan on-screen action, illegal street races, jaw-dropping stunts, family drama, and an ensemble cast that evolved into a global franchise juggernaut since the original 2001 release.

Now, the story that once lived exclusively in theaters is officially revving up for episodic storytelling on streaming.

Vin Diesel, who became a household name playing Dominic Toretto and has been a driving creative force behind the cinematic saga, announced on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He explained that fans have long clamored for deeper dives into the rich world and characters the franchise has built, and that Peacock’s new slate is the answer.

According to multiple reports, Peacock will launch four distinct shows set in the Fast & Furious universe, though only one is currently in active development with a script underway. The remaining three remain in early stages of planning around Universal Television, insiders say.

Diesel will serve as an executive producer alongside familiar franchise producers, including Neal Moritz and Chris Morgan, and the pilot for the first series is being penned by veteran TV writers Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman. But beyond that, plot details, casting plans, and release dates are still tightly under wraps.

This move significantly expands a franchise that has grossed more than $7 billion worldwide across 11 films, with a planned final movie, Fast Forever, scheduled for a March 17, 2028, release.

While the core family ethos and high-octane thrills are expected to remain, the shift to long-form TV could open the engine block on character backstories, side arcs, and fresh storylines that the movies never had time to explore. For die-hard fans who’ve memorized every street-race chase and car flip, this expansion offers new territory to crash through, and for Peacock, a chance to turbocharge its streaming slate with what could be one of the biggest entertainment franchises ever to hit screens.

Stay tuned, this ride is just getting started.
