As of Monday(3/30) Californian COVID-19 cases rose to 7,000. Of the 7,000, 150 have passed away, but still the state has not yet peaked. Experts say the state will soon experience overflows much like New York. Trump announced 8 new medical facilities coming to California today(3/31).
In the meantime, many hospitals are turning away patients. Those scheduled or in need of "elective" surgery as well as many elderly patients have stopped receiving treatment.
The state has already welcomed the USNS Mercy Naval Ship. Much like the USNS Comfort that arrived in New York, the Navy hospital ship will provide hundreds more with medical equipment and beds. The ship arrived fully staffed, a welcomed relief for healcare workers.
