I moved out on my own for the first time right before my 22nd birthday. Nice little apartment in Brownstown. I had 2 other apartments after that in Southfield and Farmington Hills. I met my 2 oldest father the year I moved out and he moved with me everytime I moved.
I stayed in my last apartment for 2 years before I had to move back with my mom. At that time, I had my oldest daughter who was 15 months. Me and my kids father were not doing good and I eventually kicked him out………. I lost everything. I was only able to save my babies stuff. All my major things like furniture and some dishes, pots and pans, all got left behind because he wouldn’t help me. He was being vindictive.
I had to move back with my mom because my job at the time was cutting hours and I could no longer afford my apartment. My mom had given me everything and I had to leave it because no one would help me move it to storage. I stayed at my mom’s for 10 years before I was able to be back on my own, but this time it was 5 of us instead of 2.
I now rent a house until I’m able to purchase a home of my own. I love my little place. It’s perfect for starting over. Of course I had to replace everything I lost and it was bittersweet. I miss my old belongings because I had them for so long but I appreciate that I was able to do things independently this time. It’s a great feeling to be able to do without help. God has definitely been in my corner and I know there’s more in store for me and my girls. It’s time and I’m ready.
