So Adam Urbanski is at it again. He's urging Rochester City School District (RCSD) teachers to "turnout" en-masse tonight at the RCSD's virtual Board of Education meeting. That is, he's urging them to "sign up [en-masse] to speak to [the Board] - remotely" (SEE HIS NOTICE BELOW).
Everyone who really knows Urbanski, also knows that he's a half-slick-liar. His correspondence (below), sent to the overwhelmingly, predominantly white, suburbanite teachers, whom he has represented for 40 years, is characteristic of his nature as a liar. It begins with a lie, e.g., "...70% of parents do not have confidence in the District’s readiness for in-person instruction." How in the world would he possibly know that? Even though predominantly white, racist, mainstream media has been (as usual) lying about the percentage of RCSD parents who responded to an online survey regarding school-reopening, anyone who is intimately familiar with the overwhelming majority of RCSD's parent-demographic, knows damn well that nowhere near 70% of OUR parents responded to the district's phony online survey. They ought to just stop it! The truth of the matter is that they (both the District Administration and the Rochester Teachers Association) don't know what in the hell MOST, overwhelmingly, predominantly Black parents want --- period. They are literally making it up.
On the other hand, Urbanski's note to the overwhelmingly lily-white-teaching-force probably contains some truths --- such as the District not being: "prepared to be instructionally viable; knowing what the District’s instructional plan is; how students are expected to learn, and teachers are expected to teach, simultaneously in-person and remote; where the requisite technology is; when the District will be capable to demonstrate effective simultaneous teaching and learning without the requisite technology; and why teachers have to resort to social media to plead for answers to unanswered questions." AS IT RELATES TO THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTIONS, E.G. , THOSE ABOUT INSTRUCTION --- ON 1/25/21 --- BUMBLING/FUMBLING SUPERINTENDENT- NUMBER-ONE (MS. LESLI MYERS-SMALL) WAS ON SUPER-LIBERAL-ARCH-RACIST EVAN DAWSON'S RADIO TALK SHOW, AND HERE'S WHAT SHE HAD TO SAY:
"We are working to develop resources that our teachers have been asking for --- so what does that include? Demonstration lessons. Our neighboring school districts --- good teaching is good teaching --- have volunteered resources to us --- so we're working to compile all that information relative --- let's call it simultaneous instruction, so teaching your students in person, as well as remotely or online. So we're working together --- all of those resources together, so that our teachers can feel comfortable, and other staff can feel comfortable." DOES THIS AND OTHER AMAZING RHETORIC SOUND LIKE SOMEONE WHO HAS IT ALL TOGETHER INSTRUCTIONALLY, OR AS URBANSKI PUTS IT, "IS READY FOR PRIME TIME???" LISTEN FOR YOURSELF, AND DECIDE: https://www.wxxinews.org/post/connections-rcsd-superintendent-lesli-myers-small-reopening .
With regard to Urbanski's question about: "why teachers have to resort to social media to plead for answers to unanswered questions" --- here's her response: "I'm being tagged in multiple social media posts --- that I'm not being responsive. There's been --- I can't even count how many posts that I've had --- that I've been tagged in, and so we're trying to develop a good communications plan to respond --- to take a look at what the issues are, and then to be responsive, but I'm always willing to talk with Dr. Urbanski, and to meet with him."
Additionally, near the end of the program, one of the people who called into mister Dawson's show actually caught Superintendent-number-one in a lie about so-called "receiving nothing but positive feedback" regarding the limited reopening that currently exists. She was forced to back-track, and attempted to claim that she was using "hyperbole," but a-lie-is-a-lie, and she clearly lied --- period. Again, don't take my word for it --- listen for yourself: https://www.wxxinews.org/post/connections-rcsd-superintendent-lesli-myers-small-reopening .

Subject: Speak Out to the School Board Tomorrow
It is becoming increasingly obvious that the District remains dismissive of the collective wisdom of parents and teachers and continues to ignore their legitimate concerns. Despite the fact that 70% of parents, and 89% of teachers, do not have confidence in the District’s readiness for in-person instruction, the District still plans to impose on our students and their educators a plan that is not ready for primetime.
In partnership with the Rochester Community Coalition to Save Our Schools (ROC-SOS), we are determined to persuade the Board of Education to reject the Superintendent’s ill-conceived plan and insist that our schools open for in-person instruction only when they are not only safe but also prepared to be instructionally viable. This is currently not the case. We still don’t know what the District’s instructional plan is; we still don’t know how students are expected to learn, and teachers are expected to teach, simultaneously in-person and remote; we still don’t know where the requisite technology is; we still don’t know when the District will be capable to demonstrate effective simultaneous teaching and learning without the requisite technology; we still don’t know why the Superintendent does not seem to care whether teachers are vaccinated first; and we still don’t know why teachers have to resort to social media to plead for answers to unanswered questions.
The Board of Education meets tomorrow evening and we urge you to sign up to speak to them - remotely, of course, because they do not think it’s safe for the Board to meet in-person. To sign up to speak, send an email to <BoardOfEducation@rcsdk12.org> and include your name, telephone number, affiliation and the topic (Reopening of Schools). Please sign up today, if possible, but no later than by noon tomorrow. You can also email your written comments to the same address. The Board and the Superintend have already heard from your union and now they need to hear from the teachers.
Thank you, in advance, for your active participation in this effort. While addressing the school board is our most immediate opportunity, we are also prepared with other actions in our campaign of advocacy for safety and rational teaching and learning environments. Our students and their educators deserve both. Stay tuned, stay strong and stay united.
