The death of George Floyd, but also of many other Blacks in America, is the result of systemic racism. It has not existed since yesterday, nor since the death of the said Floyd and others. In recent months, his death has simply become a symbol of racial inequality. Or rather, it raised the issue of racism again. His death again, for who knows how many times, raised the question of how racism shaped Floyd and other Black Americans. How would everything look if there was no racism.
