David Guetta has just completed work on the track he and Avicii were working on when the Swedish DJ took his own life in April, 2018.
The French hit maker admits there were discussions about releasing the song, aptly titled Before I Could Say Goodbye, after Avicii’s death, but he decided the timing was wrong.
“I didn’t want to look like I was taking advantage of him, so I decided not to put it out,” he tells Rolling Stone. “It was too much at that time.”
Guetta, who organised a tribute benefit for his late friend in his native Stockholm on Thursday night (05 December 2019), plans to unveil the track “soon”.
