A new year. A new decade. So what's next: the census. It's America's way to keep count of everyone. I hope there are more people to count. Churches, congressman, civilians, are encouraging everyone to go out and be count. Numbers count, especially with the census. It determines so much such as funding. There has to be a certain number of people to get money for programs, such public education, federal funding, public housing, medicaid, senior centers, Head Start programs, and after-school programs. Two Latino Americans in goverment , Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and "Hamilton" creator Lin-Manuel Miranda are starting a new ad for people in New York to participate in the Census.
The census is for everyone even if you are an immigrant. The census comes every 10 years. However there may be a new question about citizenship. The Supreme Court dismissed this question last summer.
